Organisers of this year’s Sheffield Food Festival say an appearance from the runner-up of last year’s Great British Bake Off is exactly what every bread fan kneads.
James Morton, who has just released his debut cookery book Brilliant Bread through Ebury Publishing, will give two demonstrations during this year’s festival, which takes place in the city centre from Friday 20 September until Sunday 22 September.
He joins a tempting menu prepared for this year’s festival, the fourth held in the city by Sheffield Hallam University in association with Sheffield City Council.
Events include an allotment garden in the heart of Fargate and a celebrity cook-off against the clock, featuring BBC Radio Sheffield presenters Paulette Edwards and Toby Foster. There will also be a number of competitions, including From Field to Fork to Photograph, a photography competition which highlights the journeys made by food, from the place where it is produced to the place where it is consumed.
