14 August
From 7am on Thursday 15th August, the University will be open for calls and visits from applicants, who have just received their A level results, wanting to secure a place at Hallam through the process of Confirmation and Clearing.
This period is critical in helping the University meet our recruitment targets for 2013.
Extensive arrangements have been made to increase the number of phone lines available to telephone enquirers, and we have arrangements in place to receive drop-in enquiries. However, there will be significantly increased pressure on our telephone lines, and increased visitors to the City campus from 7am Thursday and through to the early part of next week.
We need your help in a number of ways:
- If you receive a call from a prospective student who needs help with Clearing or to confirm their place, redirect them to the dedicated Clearing and Confirmation line which is 0300 555 0567. For those calling from outside the UK, the number is 0845 147 3503.
- Please alleviate pressure on the telephone switchboard. Internal calls will be answered as soon as possible, but external calls will take priority, so your patience will be appreciated. Increased use of email or mobile calls over this period would be very helpful, indeed.
- Should you meet student visitors to campus who want face to face advice on Confirmation and Clearing on either Thursday or Friday, please direct them to Level 3 of the Atrium where there will be staff and student Ambassadors operating a Clearing ‘Open House’ reception.
Thank you for your help over this crucial recruitment period. Thank you, also, to all those staff from across the University who are working to make Confirmation and Clearing 2013 a success.
