Applications are invited for Professorships (Personal Chairs) – the submission deadline is Friday 18 October. Awards are made by the Professoriate Committee based on a two stage process. Applications will initially be considered by internal members of the committee; shortlisted applications will then be considered by the full committee at a later date following receipt of references and assessments. Applications should be submitted – preferably by email – to Maura Sorensen, University Secretariat, at m.sorensen@shu.ac.uk. Professorial training sessions
We are also running a couple of related staff training sessions:
‘Making an application for a professorial award’ – providing specific guidance on the application process for academic staff who are intending to submit an application this year or in the near future – this session will take place on Monday 16 September, 12 noon to 3.00pm.
‘Planning your academic career’ – aimed at early career researchers and providing guidance on working towards attaining a professorial title in the longer term – this session will take place on Tuesday 8 October, 12 noon to 3.00pm.
