Pre-enrolment assistant Debbie King is appealing to colleagues from across the University to consider being tested for bone marrow donation as her friend struggles to find a match to save his life.
Debbie is highlighting the case of her friend Paul Hague who was featured in The Star last week telling his story about having leukaemia and how other treatments have not been successful. Debbie said: “Potential donors aged 16 to 30 can register with the Anthony Nolan Trust. You just have to submit a small sample of saliva using a special kit, which you post back. I’d urge as many people as possible to take this simple test that could help save a life.”
