Manual Handling training course

This course is intended for those people who are required to carry out tasks involving manual handling as part of their normal duties.

Course objectives

  • To raise awareness of the risks associated with manual handling
  • To provide an understanding of the basic principles of good manual handling techniques
  • To provide the knowledge necessary to carry out a simple manual handling risk assessment

  • To define and explain “manual handling”
  • To outline how the law applies to manual handling at work
  • To outline the function and shape of the human spine
  • To explain the main reasons why manual handling injuries occur
  • To teach the basics of positive handling techniques
