5 June
Can you spare an hour on Friday 14 June from 12:00-1:00pm to be part of a marriage proposal?
A student who studied on a BA in Business and Marketing at SHU from 2002-2006 will propose to his girlfriend on in the Pennine Lecture Theatre, where they first met. He is getting her there by deception. She thinks she is attending a lecture where he is a guest speaker. He will then propose to her in the middle of the lecture. Rod Radford, senior lecturer in SBS, has volunteered to be the lecturer and will start the fake lecture at 12:15pm; audience members should arrive for 12pm prompt.
We need an audience of ‘students’; however, the students have all gone home by this date so we are appealing to staff to make up the audience. Tell all your colleagues too. We need plenty of people to make it look authentic. The proposer is having a band there so it should be fun. Please come along to the Pennine Lecture Theatre at 12pm on Friday 14 June if you’d like to be a part of this.
But please remember– it is important that once in the lecture theatre that you don’t talk about the proposal just in case the girlfriend is sitting next to you.
