At the moment, anyone can access level 7 Adsetts during the daytime. From Monday 5th September, we will be activating the magna lock so that staff will need their SHUcard at all times to get access.
What does it mean for me?
- you’ll need to carry your SHUcard at all times – but you do this anyway!
- all staff who need to access to level 7 need to bring their SHUcard just as they would to enter Oneleven or another building
- if you’re expecting a visitor, arrange to meet them on level 4
Why are we doing this?
- security of our staff is really important, there have been a few instances of students or members of the public coming on to level 7
- we’ve made access to level 4 accessible by SHUcard, so it makes sense to do the same with level 7
- as level 7 changes, there are fewer staff near the door and we need to keep equipment and resources safe there
