The upgrade will begin at 5pm on Friday 18 January and continue throughout the weekend. We anticipate that Blackboard will be available again by the morning of Sunday 20 January but it should be considered at risk all day Sunday as well.
MyHallam information pages will remain available during the upgrade, but staff and students will not be able to access Blackboard or any Blackboard sites. Therefore please do not schedule teaching and learning activities in Blackboard during this time, including online submission of assessments.
We know that there are some teaching programmes which will be affected by the downtime and we apologise for the inconvenience this will cause. As always, the upgrade team will strive to minimise any downtime.
The upgrade was originally scheduled to take place in summer 2018, but was postponed to allow further time for Blackboard to release improvements. Some of the new features which will be available following the upgrade in January include the ability to download files with Box View annotations, mark via Blackboard’s Instructor mobile app, attach files from cloud storage and for students to have access to Collaborate as part of the tools available to them in their group pages.
