Interactive voting is an easy way to draw responses from students and check their understanding during lectures and seminars. Turning Point voting software is available to everyone in the University who wants to incorporate interactive and online responses into their teaching or other work. Participants can vote with TurningPoint voting pads (available in the University) or their own mobile devices (using ResponseWare).
How can I use voting software in my teaching?
TurningPoint and ResponseWare have been used in a variety of ways, including:
- Quick quizzing at the end of lecture sections, to check the topic has been understood.
- Provoking discussions amongst groups.
- Interactive mock tests to be discussed in real-time with the class.
- Tracking progress and change by revisiting questions throughout sessions or modules.
- Gathering feedback from groups, and exporting directly to excel.
