WebEx software available to all staff

December 8th, 2014 | Posted by Jennifer Kennedy in Uncategorized

WebEx meeting software is now available to all staff at the University.  If you want to initiate a WebEx meeting, you will need to set up an account which can be done easily by following the instructions on the staff intranet.

In the new year we will be installing an application which allows you to access WebEx via Outlook.  A WebEx meeting button will then appear in everybody’s Outlook toolbar – although only those with accounts will be able to use it to set up a meeting.

What is Web Ex?

WebEx is a convenient and simple way to set up online meetings, share files, record conversations, make video calls and run presentations for small groups of people.  You can use it for conference calls, instant messaging and taking meeting  notes.  If you want to have a group conference with more than 12 people, you will probably find Blackboard’s collaborate tool will suit you better.

For more information about WebEx and what it can  be used for, please see the information on the IT Help pages on the staff intranet.
