With increasing focus on ‘impact’ as a part of REF, there has been an ongoing debate around how best to achieve, enhance and measure this more practical side of research. Within this talk I explore two distinct ways in which impact can be understood. This foundation will then be used to consider how academics might want to develop their own impact agenda. The Love Fighting Hate Violence campaign will be used as a case study to offer some context. The talk will conclude with a light practical session where we will all ‘feel’ the impact of research (sports kit not required).
