Our popular family public engagement event Explore! Science, Engineering and More returns on Saturday 21 March as part of Sheffield Hallam University’s science week programme. Last year, Explore! saw over 1500 members of the public attend an afternoon of interactive activities hosted by staff and students from across the University, and this year’s event is shaping up to be even bigger and better!
Visitors can look forward to hands-on stands and demonstrations from our Biosciences and Chemistry, Engineering and Maths, Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health, and Sport departments. There will also be showcases of research developments by staff and students in the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre and Materials and Engineering Research Institute.
Speaking about the event, Dr Katherine Rawlinson (lead organiser) said, “Explore! was launched in 2014 and through the continued support of staff and students has grown to become one of the most successful public engagement events hosted by SHU. This year, in addition to the stands and talks in the Peak Lecture Theatre, we have mini masterclasses and tours of our science research labs, which we are excited to be able to offer to our visitors.”
Location: Levels 5 and 6, Owen Building, City Campus, Sheffield Hallam University
