Join Team Hallam for the 2020 Sheffield Half Marathon!

Run Marathon for Hallam

On Sunday 29 March 2020, staff, students and alumni will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of Sanctuary Scholarships as part of the Hallam Fund. By joining our team, you will be removing the barriers faced by students seeking asylum in the UK, providing them the opportunity to transform their lives through education and the wider community.

The Sanctuary Scholarships, which are match funded by the University, recognise the determination, aspirations and resilience of asylum-seeking students and their academic abilities and potential to succeed. The scholarship consists of a full tuition fee waiver, an annual maintenance grant of £4000, and a bespoke package of tailored support.

If you are interested in joining Team Hallam for the Sheffield Half Marathon 2020, please purchase tickets using the Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) Online Store.

By choosing to run with Team Hallam, your entry costs will be reduced to just £30 for staff and alumni (£8.50 off standard registration) and £25 for students (£13.50 off standard registration). You will also receive a free Team Hallam running top!

The first 10 registrants will receive a further £5 discount reducing the entry price to £25 for staff, alumni and friends of Hallam and £20 for students. The last entry date for Team Hallam runners is 16th February 2019.

In the lead up to the run, support and advice will be available to you on how to fundraise. Each runner will have an individual minimum target of £150 and our overall team target is £5,000. This means that you would need to encourage only 15 people to give you £10 each in order to achieve your minimum target, which we hope feels achievable.

Team Hallam has a campaign page on Just Giving where donations can be made and we will send you guidance on how to create a linked individual page to help you meet your fundraising target.

Hopefully this gives you a bit more information about what is involved. Please do get in touch if you have any more questions at fundraising@shu.ac.uk.

If you are ready to enter, please click here to purchase your Team Hallam place. Once we receive your payment we will send you a charity pin code, which you can use to register with the event organisers, Run For All.
