Macmillan Cake Sale and Bake-Off Competition

The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing will once again be supporting the annual Macmillan Cancer Support ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event by holding a cake sale in F618 RWB between 9am and 1pm on Thursday 26th September (please note: Friday 27th September is the official date for the Macmillan Coffee Morning).

To help raise as much dough as possible we need you to dust off the rolling pins, whip out the whisks or simply go and buy something tasty to contribute to the offerings. Most importantly, we kindly ask that you to dig deep in your pockets and buy as much cake as you can carry!

There will also be the annual HWB staff ‘Bake Off’. For a fee of £3, you can enter your baking to be judged by our ‘star baker’ judges. The winning baker will receive a money-can’t-buy prize! Please let Vicky Daley (v.daley@shu.ac.uk) know if you intend to submit an entry for the competition. All entries must be in no later than 9am on the day (you can drop off your bakes from 8:30am) with judging taking place at 9:15am promptly. We would love you to stay for this if you could.

Are you ready to rise to the challenge?

This year’s event is in memory of our colleague and friend, Gill Hill, who worked in HWB placement team for 7 years. With a smile on her face, the ever cheerful Gill brought fun, laughter, guidance, support and friendship to those who knew her best.
