A week-long annual celebration of diversity and talent will begin at Sheffield Hallam University next Monday (4 March).

With a programme packed full of live music, dance, cultural performances, social events and more, there’s something for everyone and all are welcome to get involved.

Solo-performances from vocalists and musicians will be combined with cultural celebrations, including Kurdish, Pakistani, Indonesian, Bulgarian and Vietnamese events.

Venues include the Heartspace Café in the Owen building, Heart of the Campus at Collegiate Crescent and the Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union building, the Hubs.

The week-long event will see performances and events run by staff and students, with a focus on celebrating talent and culture.

Now in its ninth year, SHU Fest 2019 will be opened with a performance from Three Profs and No Piano – Professors Cranton, Eccleston and Sammon are talented musicians, as well as experts in their fields.

Fancy making some scones? SHU staff member Paul Benson is running a baking workshop. Always wanted to try salsa dancing? The Salsa Society is running a Give It A Go session for just £5. Or is break-dancing more your style? You can try that too, with the Breakdancing Society.

The week will be rounded off in style at the weekend with a trip to Oxford and an international picnic in Graves Park, Sheffield.
