Wednesday 10th October 2018 is World Mental Health Day. The World Health Organisation says that ”the Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide”. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is young people and mental health in a changing world.
To support this year’s World Mental Health Day, the Faculty’s Paramedic students and lecturers will be hosting a ’Tea & Talk’ fundraising event to help raise awareness of mental health issues.
There will be an opportunity for students to talk to fellow students, lecturers and colleagues from the university who specialise in mental health, and there will also be designated rooms for one to one sessions if required.
There will be a cake sale and a raffle prize draw, with all proceeds going towards this worthy cause.
The Tea & Talk event will take place on Wednesday 10th October from 12pm to 3pm, in the foyer and various rooms in Heart of the Campus.
For further information, or if you would like to donate cakes etc, please contact Sue Boardman or Marie Hollingworth.
We look forward to seeing you there!
