Our traditional FPS Christmas event was once again a right cracker! Colleagues from every team in Technical Services, Business Support, Research and Student Services came together to take on Gill and Jayne’s Quiz and games……just don’t mention the buzz words!
This year we introduced the Great Christmas Fake Off where teams were asked to create a Christmas dinner using Plasticine. Each dinner plate had to consist of all 9 items described by the team names such as, The Soggy Sprouts, The Piggy Blankets and the Toasty Roasties!
We had some amazing creations “Watch out Toby Carvery” and when we “The Judges” narrowed it down to the final 3, we asked 1 member from each team to perform a mini speech to sell their Christmas Dinner. Vicky Daley from RWB Helpdesk smashed her pitch for the Saucy Cranberries to scoop top spot but we cannot go without mentioning Darren Wall’s hilarious account on behalf of the Piggy Blankets!
A huge well done to the Perky Parsnips who claimed the crown as overall competition winners! Tom, Andrew, James and co. from Technical Services were just too good in every round.
Despite you all being such a noisy bunch, we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and some people even learnt that Paris is not a country! We do however need to speak with Philip Wain to recommend that we spend some of the FPS training and development budget on listening skills in the new year! Everyone was having so much fun no one could hear the instructions! The “Guess the gift” game was total chaos!!
What a great afternoon!
