Armistice Day – 2 minute silence – Friday 11th Nov

As part of the University’s commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, and to remember all lives lost in armed conflict, staff and students have the opportunity to observe the national Two Minute Silence at 11.00 on Friday 11 November.
Observing the Two Minute Silence is a personal choice and you can do it in a number of ways
  • the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris Husbands, will lead an observance for staff and students in the Owen Building from 10.50 underneath the big screen in the main entrance
  • Professor Karen Bryan will lead a similar observance in the Heart of the Campus building from 10.50, opposite the main reception desk
  • spaces for personal contemplation are also available at the Multifaith Centre, level 2 Owen Building and The Retreat, level 2 Oaklands, Collegiate Campus
