to all of you that visited our World Mental Health Day stalls on Monday – over 80 of you!
The focus on psychological first aid appeared to be very relevant to students. You were keen to pick up tips about how to support friends, family and others who are experiencing distress. The majority of students visiting the stall and collecting information at Collegiate campus were studying on nursing courses.
Look After Your Mate is a short course which has been designed by Student Minds to help students to feel more confident in responding to others who are experiencing distress. We are planning to run Look After Your Mate courses at SHU this year. If you would like to know more or would be interested in attending, please contact Kate Cowell via Student Wellbeing on 0114 225 2136 or student.wellbeing@shu.ac.uk
