Over June and July 2019, Sheffield Hallam University welcomed 38 students from the Cultural and Language Immersion programme (CALIS) from our partners at City University Hong Kong, and for the first time this included 4 students from the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE). In this month long programme, students had an intensive English course at Sheffield Hallam as well as local trips around the city and the surrounding countryside.
One of the highlights of the programme is that the students get the opportunity to stay with families from across Sheffield, and really get to know the local people. The group has also embarked on two weekend trips, to Edinburgh and London. Above you can see some of the students enjoying the show Aladdin at the Prince Edward theatre, London.
