SHAPE students visit robotic e-commerce logistics centre

SHAPE (Tsing Yi office) has organized a site visit for the SHU Business Management students to HKTVmall Tsing Yi Logistics Center on 26 April 2019. 27 students joined the activity and visited the company.

HKTVmall is one of the largest online shopping platforms in Hong Kong. In response to the rapid growth, HKTVmall introduced a robotic pick & pack system from Germany, and is in full operation since March this year. This system is the first of its kind in Hong Kong, comprising a conveying system, an automatic picking system, an automatic storage and retrieval system and tote handling systems including the software for the material flow control and automatic management. It fully mechanizes and automates previously labour-intensive logistics procedures.

Students found the visit broadened their horizons. Apart from visiting the warehouse of HKTVMall, the students learnt more about the online shopping market in Hong Kong and the logistics operation of the company.
