Social – there are lots of social activities coming up including the story behind Bonfire Night and After Dark as well as experiencing British Culture. Trips include the Beatles Museum at Liverpool, and a local basketball game.

Employability –Are you an international student looking for work? Come along to a workshop to get advice on part time jobs or graduate careers.

Are you a Chinese or Indian national on a student visitor visa? If yes, soon you can use this visa to travel to Ireland, find out more information.

If you are interested in working full-time in the UK after you graduate, then ‘Working in the UK after studies’ sessions provide information about Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 5 visa routes.

Immigration –  Is your visa due to expire soon? We remind you about the importance of attending a group session with an international student adviser.

Social Activities and Trips

Wednesday 5 November, 6.00pm
After Dark/Bonfire Night

Owen 1037, City Campus

Ever wondered what Bonfire night is about?  Helen who comes from Fawkes’ home town, will tell you about its history before we all take the tram to the After Dark event at Don Valley. Expect a huge bonfire, spectacular fireworks and live music.

Sheffield’s Sharks v. Newcastle Eagles

Meet outside the main University entrance

Sheffield’s Sharks are one of the most successful UK basketball teams. Join us for their game against the Newcastle Eagles.

Beatles Museum/Liverpool

Meet outside the main University entrance

Roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour, a trip to the cosmopolitan city of Liverpool including tickets to the Beatles Museum.

Buy tickets from from the Student Services Reception, level 5. Cost: £20

Monday 24 November, 5.00pm – 7.00pm,
Experience British Culture

Heartspace, City campus

Join us for an evening of British culture including music, games and drama.  You must buy your tickets by 1.00pm on Thursday 20 November from Chef Hallam (level 6), the cost includes a traditional British meal (bangers and mash+ a vegetarian option). Cost: £2

Sunday 23 November, 12.00pm – 2.00pm
‘Handball Taster Session

Pearson Building Sports Hall, Collegiate Campus

Come and try Handball in a relaxed and friendly environment in this session for people who are beginners or want to know more about the sport.

There will be coaches to explain the rules of handball and show you some of the techniques.

No need to book, just turn up with your SHUcard.
