Trip to the Botanical Gardens

Join us on a walk to the beautiful Botanical Gardens which is near our Collegiate Campus. Come with us and find out why Sheffield is the greenest city in the UK while taking in this sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

We will also walk down the famous Ecclesall Road – an area which is extremely popular with our students – with its many restaurants, bars and independent shops.

Meet our student crew at the main University entrance at 10am on Sunday 3 July (our trip will finish at approximately 2pm) – there is no charge for this event.

Social climbing session

Sheffield is famous for climbing, so why not get involved in a four-week course, with instructors on hand to help you every step of the way?

We will be holding these sessions at the Foundry Climbing Centre, which is a top class training facility and a fun and friendly environment for people new to the sport of climbing.

These sessions are free of charge, and the first will be on Thursday 7 July at 5.30-8pm, then repeated at the following times and dates: 3.30pm on 10 July, 6.30pm on 21 July and 3.30pm on 30 July.

Book your place in advance at the Hallam Active reception.

EU students studying at SHU

All current EU students should be reassured that their studies will not be affected by the EU referendum outcome. The UK exit negotiations are likely to take at least two years and possibly longer and until then all EU citizens are still entitled to:

> EU student status – you will not be subject to immigration controls and will not require a visa to study in the UK
Home/EU tuition fee status – you will continue to pay the same fees you are paying at the moment
Access to tuition fee loans – EU nationals or their family members, currently in higher education, and who are assessed as eligible to receive loans and/or grants from the SLC, will continue to receive these loans and grants until they finish their course. This includes loans to cover tuition fees (for those resident in the EEA for three years), loans and grants for maintenance (limited to those resident in the UK for at least three years), and some other grants and allowances.
Access to EU grants – If your studies are funded by Erasmus+, or any other European programme, you will continue receiving your funding.

If you have queries or concerns about this information, please book an appointment with the International Experience Team.
