We have organised over 50 events, trips and activities this summer which will help you explore the UK and the local area. Our day trips are open to all current students and include visits to York, Cambridge, Newcastle and the beautiful seaside village of Whitby. Most of the trips are only £10 and can be bought from the Hubs.
We have also organised a number of free ‘explore Sheffield’ events which will help you meet new friends and discover new places in the City.
All activities are in the ‘Summer Of Fun’ booklet which is available from Student Services Centre on level 5 of the Owen Building.
The aim of Culture Connect is to help new students settle into life in the UK and have a positive university experience. All current UK and international students can apply to become mentors and mentees. There will be regular training and social activities for all members.
Mentees
You may need help meeting new friends and adjusting to a new culture and social norms. Your mentor will help you integrate into the community and meet people from different countries, as well as introducing you to the wide network of support available at Sheffield Hallam University and beyond.
Mentors
We encourage students who have taken part in extracurricular activities to get involved as mentors. Culture Connect is a great way to meet new people, develop cultural awareness and gain valuable experience for your CV.
