The 2016 School of Business & Leisure induction for first year students was held on the 13th and 14th June. This year there were 110 privately sponsored and 254 government sponsored students that have been accepted.
Welcoming the students to the Botswana Accountancy College, the students were taken through what the institution stands for; what it wants to achieve; its missions and vision; its partnerships and what is expected for them to be students that represent the Botswana Accountancy College brand. To facilitate this, the registry department presented on issues pertaining to student allowances and briefed them on the registration process of the College. The students and welfare department advised students about campus life and the school’s learning environment.
The portfolio manager of SBL, Mr Aubrey Mbewe, took the students through basic information a student ought to know to carry them through each semester e.g. pass mark, fail and discontinue, reports and supplementary examinations etc. The students were given the semester timetable as classes were commencing the same week on the 15th June. On the second day, there was an orientation by the Library and ICT where the students were given information guidelines on how to access the College’s computers, internet, online resources and how to use the library. This day was also about familiarising the students with the campus facilities.
