Staff are being given an opportunity to take a look inside the brand new atrium, which now links Sheaf and EMB, before it fully opens to students on 24 April.

An £11million investment has enhanced the facilities supporting high-quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities. As well as the stunning new atrium, the new and improved spaces include galleries, collaborative spaces and social learning; a cutting-edge chemistry lab; modern new engineering provision; a publicly-accessible environment as a resource for nurturing enterprising, work-ready students; and improved facilities throughout both buildings. The refurbishment presents a great opportunity for us to improve both the student and staff experience in these locations.

This ‘open house’ event, hosted by the estates development and sustainability team, will give you the chance to visit the new atrium and explore it at your leisure before it opens to staff and students on 24 April. Staff from the Faculty of ACES, which is housed in the refurbished spaces, will be able to take a sneak peak during the morning session, whilst the afternoon session is open to staff from across the University.

Booking is not required, but staff are encouraged to register their interest in attending by completing the booking link below. This will give us an idea of possible numbers on the day. Everyone registering will also receive an email with further information about the event. Thank you.
