Hallam Twelve Days of Christmas 2022
Most of us have our festive traditions – the family meal, the Boxing Day walk, the family board games, the silly sweaters. My definition of a tradition is that it begins when something happens two years in a row for the same reason. And so, here, once again are my annual twelve Hallam days of Christmas for 2022: just a few memorable moments from what has – once again – been a busy year in which our success has depended on commitment, engagement and teamwork from right across the University. However you are spending the break, I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing time.
On the first day of Christmas, I shall remember that we were shortlisted as Times Higher University of the year and won the Times Higher Award for a university’s impact on its local community.
On the second day of Christmas, I shall remember the ground breaking for our net zero Howard Street campus development and the three new buildings – Rivelin, Loxley and Porter, and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the third day of Christmas, I shall remember the opening of our stunning new City Campus atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the fourth day of Christmas, I shall remember the Hallam Fund telephone campaign which raised £325,000 for our scholarship programme, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the fifth day of Christmas I shall remember the first anniversary of our civic university agreement and our success in securing leadership of the national civic university accelerator, the Hallam Fund Campaign, , the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the sixth day of Christmas, I shall remember the launch of the AWRC cancer support service following its successful pilot, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the seventh day of Christmas I shall remember the seven medals secured by Hallam students and alumni at the Commonwealth Games, the AWRC cancer support service, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, , the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the eighth day of Christmas I shall remember our REF results, doubling our entry and increasing our quality and impact, our students’ success at the Commonwealth Games, the AWRC cancer support service, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, , the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the ninth day of Christmas, I shall remember our thirty-four graduation ceremonies for 8300 students and nearly 40,000 guests, our REF results, our students’ success at the Commonwealth Games, the AWRC cancer support service, , our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the tenth day of Christmas I shall remember our twinning with the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design to support Ukrainian students and academics, our graduation ceremonies, our REF results, our students’ success at the Commonwealth Games, the AWRC cancer support service, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the eleventh day of Christmas I shall remember the University-wide programme of events which re-animated our campuses as we emerged from pandemic restrictions, the Kyiv National University of technology and Design our graduation ceremonies, our REF results, our students’ success at the Commonwealth Games, ,the AWRC cancer support service, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
On the twelfth day of I shall remember the launch of our London Campus as a part of the Brent Cross Town development, our re-animation of the campus, the Kyiv National University of technology and Design, our graduation ceremonies, our REF results, our students’ success at the Commonwealth Games, the AWRC cancer support service, our civic leadership, the Hallam Fund Campaign, the opening of the atrium, the ground-breaking for our Howard Street development and our success at the Times Higher Awards.
However you are choosing to celebrate and – or – relax over the festive period, there has been so much to be proud of during 2022.
