Events

We run and participate in a range of events as part of the Talent Match evaluation. For Talent Match partnerships and the Big Lottery Fund we run a biennial conference which is co-designed and delivered with young people. We held conferences in 2014 and in autumn 2016.

We also help deliver theme-based workshops and other events with partnerships. In early 2016 we will delivered ones on Employer Engagement and on Mental Health and Young People.

Whilst the numbers of young people claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance have fallen dramatically since a peak in 2012 the numbers now off benefits but who are NEETs have  risen. Talent Match is the Big Lottery Fund’s strategic programme to support young people aged 18-24 years old who are furthest from the labour market. Young people and voluntary sector organisations in 21 areas in England came together to design and deliver the programme.

This conference reports back on the main findings from the programme: from the national
evaluation team led by CRESR at Sheffield Hallam University, from the Big Lottery Fund, and from young people and the partnerships. The conference will look at the experience of co-designing a programme with young people, how the partnerships worked, barriers young people faced and support required to engage employers.
