If you have free time outside of your lectures and seminars, why not catch up on those small but timely tasks you’ve been meaning to do.

The Student Advice and Information team have put together a few suggestions for you:-

• Have you been meaning to book a doctor’s appointment, Student Health at SHU now have an online appointment booking service which makes it easier to arrange an appointment (new patients must register first).

• Study skills workshops range from topics on exam preparation to RefWorks, no need to book just come along!

• Are you on a Maths course and need some help? Maths Help offer regular drop-in sessions at both campuses.

• Take time out for your well-being or you may have a personal issue that you’d like to speak to somebody about confidentially, Hallam Union hold drop-in sessions every Wednesday 1-3pm (each Wednesday of the month is a different theme).

• Use your free time to contact your tutors for help with an assignment, speak to your faculty helpdesk for how best to get in touch.

• Did you hope to join a society at the start of term? It’s not too late! Hallam Union has many different societies to choose from, ranging from tea drinking to parachuting! Or you could start your own…

• Have you been meaning to try a new sport but don’t wish to commit long term? Social sport allows you to just turn up and play (see the schedule for activity times).
