SSH Staff News: April

Promotions

Congratulations to John Francis, our deputy dean for the faculty who has been awarded the title of Professor of Applied Social Science Education. Prof Francis’ expertise lies within psychology and he has previously led the staff team  in the department of Psychology, Sociology and Politics to develop courses that have more of an applied focus.

New Starters

We welcome Senior Lecturer’s Samantha Ainslie and Paul Abba who have joined the Department of Law and Criminology as well as Heather Semper in Psychology, Sociology and Politics.

We also welcome Ella Morton who has joined the faculty as a Technician, Mrs Elizabeth Askey as a Receptionist in Business Support and Ms Fanny Forest, an Employment Law Solicitor who has joined the Department of Law and Criminology.

New Team Structures

As I’m sure everyone is now aware, as part of the PSOM review, since 1 January 2019, new teams have been introduced into the faculty to support students and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the Faculty Services (FS) teams that now provide an aspect of professional services support to academic colleagues across the faculty.

Faculty Services consists of three teams, Faculty Operations, Planning & Initiatives and Education Placements Team. The links below take you to the intranet pages where you will be able to find out more about who is in each team and what that team is responsible for.

I hope you find this useful. If you have any specific questions please contact the relevant team manager or myself and we will endeavour to help.
