Lynda.com has now changed to LinkedIn Learning
Lynda.com was a website full of online video courses for a range of IT subjects, creative industries, business and employment. The University has a license for all staff, students and recent graduates to use it and some courses are already making use of it as a support resource.
Our Lynda.com subscription has now changed to become LinkedIn Learning. This includes the same video courses plus additional features that offer integration with LinkedIn profiles.

Blackboard updates
Blackboard will be unavailable due to this year’s upgrade from:
- from 5pm on Friday 2 August, all day Saturday 3 August and potentially Sunday 4 August
- from 5pm on Friday 30 August, all day Saturday 31 August and potentially on Sunday 1 September.
Avoid scheduling teaching and learning activities in Blackboard, including online submission of assessments, during these times.
We Are Hallam
Whilst activity across the University focuses on preparation for the new academic year, the We Are Hallam team have decided to move to a weekly newsletter. From next week you will receive your update every Wednesday morning, just for the month of August. Normal service will resume in September.
Updated online prospectus
The channels and content team have made some changes to the online prospectus which should see an improvement to users. You can read about these changes and the effects here.
