6.30 ’til late, Monday 18th December
#SocMedHE17 is nearly here – but before then, there is of course the pre-conference dinner – less of a black tie gala, and more of an informal opportunity to wind-down after travelling, meet your social networks in actual real-life person, make new ones, and eat great food away from the noise of Sheffield city centre.
If you’ve already requested a place then check your in box for an email about menu options; if you haven’t, then don’t worry, you’re not too late. We still have a few places left at £40 per ticket and all you need to do is email us at socmedhe@shu.ac.uk with Conference Dinner in the title, and we’ll be in touch.
This year we’re going to a new venue (but already a local gem): The Dorothy Pax, down in Sheffield’s canal basin at Victoria Quays. Twitter @DorothyPax
The bar of the Dorothy Pax is built from it’s namesake: the last wooden keel to sail from Sheffield. Lucky for us it’s owner, Richard, is a foodie of legendary proportions, he’s run supper clubs in and around Sheffield for many years, makes the BEST gin and tonics, keeps an excellent range of beers, and has promised to look after us very well 🙂
Dinner will be served from around 6.45, and we are co-ordinating transport to and from the venue.
