Sheffield Institute of Art

Sheffield Hallam University has it’s own Gallery which is held in the recently built Cantor building, a five minute away from the main building situated in the heart of the city on the main university campus. Recently they decided to put on a display based on Sheffield Institute of Art.

SIA can be found in the history books as far back as 1843, but today, it’s an art school at Sheffield Hallam University.

To go along with the art to be displayed in the gallery during the themed event, the organisers decided to commission, four Digital Media Production students to produce, a short film piece to go along with the art, this piece would interview two Alumni of the original Sheffield Institute of Art, before it was transformed in to the modern day Sheffield Hallam University.

The four students, (Blake Aldred-Ling, Emily Burcham, Rebecca Colton and Nick Emmerson) produced the short film. They interviewed Kevin Farrel and Endre Roder, who both attended the school in its original form. As we interviewed them, they reminisced about their days at the school, their tutors, other friends who attended, as well as their favourite parts about the course they studied.
