Sheffield Trans Day of Remembrance 2017 – Sheffield Hallam LGBT+ Rep / SAYiT / T-Boys
November 20, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Transgender Day of Remembrance is held every year in November to mourn those lost to transphobic hatred and violence. These are deaths that are largely ignored by mainstream society, but send shockwaves through the trans community. TDOR gives us a day to grieve, but also to celebrate the lives that have been tragically cut short by hate crimes. Join us in Hallam Square from 5.30pm for a vigil to remember the members of our worldwide community who are no longer with us. After the vigil SAYiT will be hosting a Celebration and Commemoration Event at Scotia Works from 7-8pm. There will be refreshments and some empowering positive activities to bring the community together. Both events are open to everyone, and allies are very much welcome.
