Art in The Emporium: Diversity In Illustration #1
August 18, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Thank you Art for the thinking behind this! We’ve been wanting to get an event in angled towards illustration/artists…so this is perfectly timed 🙂
“Diversity in Illustration” will be a super-chilled sketching session…no skill in illustration or drawing is required – so whether you’re a super-talented illustrator, attempt the odd doodle, or never pick up a pencil…just bring an open mind, and let your creative juices go!
Session #1 will focus on facial structure/identification – we’ll get the proector going with a few visuals to spur a bit of inspiration! The point being, to share our perceptions of equality and cultures through art. Further sessions down the line may move on to themes like body types and clothing-styles in a variety of cultures.
Some paper and pencils will be provided, but please bring your sketchpads and materials if you have them, to ensure there are enough to go round!
There’ll be a non-compulsory donation teapot on the go – all of which shall be donated to Diversity Fest 2016 – a free celebration for people of every gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age and ability. A statement of unity and mutual respect between Sheffield’s many communities.
