Unified Comms
The University is moving to a new communication system – to replace the current telephones which will soon become obsolete. This new method, known as Unified Comms, offers new ways of connecting which will work with any University-owned device: desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone or tablet. It should also work with most smart phones, tablets and computers running reasonably modern operating systems and we have licensed it so that staff can use it with their own devices should they want to do so.The software is Cisco Jabber and there is potential for it to work from any place you can get a network connection, offering you greater flexibility in where and how you work.
Unified Comms has recently been installed in 1 Furnival Square and is being piloted in different areas around the University.
