Planned IT Maintenance
Interruption to IT services on 8 and 15 December
Digital Technology Services will be refreshing the 4 campus core switches over the following two weekends in December. The work will result in some periods of scheduled service outage and some periods of service at risk.
We are working to keep these outages to a minimum but staff and students should plan for potential disruption on these weekends by allowing plenty of contingency time for work which requires access to IT services (from on or off campus) and by saving files frequently.
Saturday 8 December 2018 – Replacement of the two Collegiate Campus core switches
We expect the work to take 8 hours, including time for troubleshooting and rollback, if required. The work will result in a significant service outage on all wired and wireless network based IT Services on the Collegiate Campus. All other IT users (outside of the Collegiate Campus), including those accessing services remotely, should plan for possible disruption to any of Sheffield Hallam University’s IT services.

All other IT users (outside of the City Campus), including those accessing services remotely, should plan for possible disruption to any of Sheffield Hallam University’s IT services.
