Extended Induction Framework

Purpose of the proposed group
Promotion and development of a generic on-line and face to face framework that can be applied to any course discipline. The purpose of the framework is to give a “bite-sized taster” to pre-arrival students of what they might expect from their course delivery.

Feedback from colleagues indicates that courses across Sheffield Hallam could benefit from this framework as part of an extended induction. The feedback recognised how the framework made a contribution towards retention, student engagement and progression.  The proposed group would enable colleagues to collaborate and share ideas to develop practice and the framework further.

Objectives of the proposed group

  • To develop a robust method of evaluation of the framework
  • To further develop the framework
  • To gain further interest and engagement from courses to utilise the framework
  • To disseminate evidence of impact on the learners
