Task 1

Introductory session *STAFF-LED
Meet your team
You’ll be assigned to intercultural teams of 3-4 and you’ll agree:
- Team leader and team name
- How to keep in touch
- Dates/times of student-led meetings
All project participants MUST join the Where in the World Facebook group and post a welcome message.

Staff-led zoom meeting.

Task 2
W/C Monday 14 June
Name Game *STUDENT-LED
In a team zoom or face-to-face meeting (depending on individual preferences and government guidance at the time) you should discuss the following questions:
- What is your name?
- Why were you given that name?
- Is it linked to another person in the family? How?
- What are the naming conventions in your family? Is that convention related to your cultural background?
- What does your name mean?
- Do you like your name?
- If you could rename yourself, would you?
- Do you think your name affects the way people interact with you?
Then individually, each student should:
- Post a response to one of the questions above onto Facebook.
- Select 2 posts from other project participants and ask each student 2 questions about their post. Do not respond to students that already have 2 posts.
- Be sure to respond to the 2 questions posed to you.

Task 3
W/C Monday 21 June
Team Introduction Video *STUDENT-LED
Produce a team video on Zoom using the ‘Record’ function (aim for 1-2 minutes).
Each student needs to participate and answer each section personally:
- Introduce yourself – here’s some ideas
- Discuss your home countries e.g. cultural similarities and differences
- What you hope to get from the project
Post your video on the Facebook group – if you are unsure how to do it, here’s some guidance.
- Watch and enjoy all the videos. Then individually, each student should select 2 videos from other teams and comment with 2 questions.
- Be sure to respond to the 2 questions posed to your team.

Post your team video on Facebook, comment and respond by Friday 25 June.

Task 4
W/C Monday 28 June
Culture & Traditions *STUDENT-LED
Work in your group on Zoom or face-to-face. Present to each other about at least 2 of the following topics for each country represented in the group:
- A celebration, custom, tradition which is unique for your culture
- A sacred place? What rituals, customs, traditions are associated with it?
- Typical food and drink for your country/culture
Take notes during your exchange. What was the most significant or surprising thing you learned?
Post this in Facebook afterwards. Don’t forget to tag the person who shared the interesting fact or information in your post.
At the end of the meeting choose one country to focus the next task on.

Country Tourist Advert *STUDENT-LED
Based on the information you’ve gathered in team conversations, you will create a short promotional video (maximum 45 seconds).
- You can have as many meetings as necessary
- You could use Adobe Spark to create the promotional video or record a PowerPoint presentation with a voice-over.
- Feel free to explore other websites
Submit the advert to Facebook once everyone in your team is happy with it.
Delivery method/where submitted
Facebook and other tools the team decides to use for the discussion.
Advert due by Friday 9 July.

Task 6
W/C Monday 12 July
Project conclusion *STAFF LED
- Each student will review all Facebook video adverts and comment on each one.
- After you have reviewed and commented on all the adverts, “Like” your favourite. You cannot select your own team’s advert.
- Staff-led Zoom session for final discussion on Thursday 15 July
- Best advert selected by staff and prize winners announced
