How do you feel about being nominated for an Inspirational Student Award?
This is my great honour to win the Sheffield Hallam Inspirational Student Award 2019 in the Student Voice Category. I am very grateful to be one of the student representatives of the BA (Hons) Business Management programme. Meanwhile, I am glad to help my classmates when they found any difficulties during the study. All these experiences enhance my self-confidence and sharpen my leadership skills.
What is the main thing you have learned so far while studying your degree?
The degree programme develops my critical thinking skills. In degree level, critical thinking is an important element required on every assessment. Through participated discussion in seminars, these experiences enhance my critical thinking skills.
What module as part of your Sheffield Hallam University degree have you enjoyed the most and why?
Academic and Professional Excellence is one of the modules which I enjoyed the most. This module included group presentation and Dragon Den activity. Those activities provided valuable opportunity to build up my ability in problem solving, negotiation and decision making. Also, the APE module enable me to sharpen my communication skills which help me a lot in my career plan.
What difference do you think graduating with a degree from Sheffield Hallam University will make to your career?
Graduating with a Business Management degree from SHU will help me a lot in my career prospects. Sheffield Hallam University is Britain’s largest modern business school, with the interactive lectures and seminars, this enable me to advance my knowledge related to business management in relaxing learning atmosphere.
What are your career plans after completing your degree?
The degree qualification enhances my competitive advantage in career development. My career plan is applying to different company’s management trainee programme. As a Business Management degree holder, management trainee programme is the most challenging career target to obtain.
How do you feel that learning from tutors from Sheffield Hallam has improved your cultural understanding and perspective?
Tutors form UK are willing to share lot of British culture with us. Through tutors sharing, I got a valuable opportunity to broaden my horizons relating to different country cultures. Understanding other cultures could help my study, especially in global marketing modules.
What advice would you give to someone choosing this course about your experience so far to help them decide?
Business Management degree programme is suitable for those who want to get a good understanding of the commercial world. The modules cover different topics and emphasises practical skills and business concept. This degree programme is suitable for everyone who want to choose commercial sector as their career path.
What is the best thing you have experienced about studying a Sheffield Hallam degree?
SHU provided a lot of support for students which helps us to adapt the degree study stage. Also, tutors and students create a good study atmosphere which helps me to get a good performance studying in SHU. I am so proud to study at the Sheffield Hallam University and would like to recommend this University to everyone who wants to further study.
