ACU Global Summer School Grants for undergraduates

The ACU is excited to once again be supporting undergraduate students from UK member universities to attend a summer school at member universities across the Commonwealth.

Participating in an international summer schools is a great way for students to learn new skills, increase their intercultural understanding, network and have fun while benefiting from the teaching and expertise of another ACU member institution. How to apply
Fill in the application form and submit it to the International Experience Team internationalexperience@shu.ac.uk by Thursday 28 February.

When filling out the application form, please pick a first choice summer school (and an optional second choice) – a full list of participating universities is available here.

You will also need to answer a short series of questions on why you wish to attend the summer school, what you hope to bring to and gain from the event, and how you plan to share the knowledge gained when they return home.

Selection process

The university will carry out an internal selection process using grading advice provided by the ACU, and nominate up to two candidates per institution by Friday 8 March. The ACU will then carry out the final round of selections.

Successful candidates will be notified by early April and will then be required to register for their choice of summer school.

  • From a family with a combined annual parental income of under £25,000
  • The first person in their family to go to university
  • A care leaver
