New look blog

Based on feedback from the F&P Engagement Group the blog has been given a brand new look.  New features include:

  • a ‘magazine’ style template to give the blog more of a ‘news’ feel
  • recent posts featuring on the homepage
  • a streamlined, more organised menu
  • an ‘upcoming events’ feature in the right hand menu
  • ability to comment on posts
  • functionality to share posts by email, facebook or twitter

By the time the next blog is published on 1 August we should also have a new url for the site (https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/fpnews).

Hopefully these changes will make the site easier to navigate and read but do let me know what you think by commenting below.

Financial Year End

It’s that time again!  We are fast approaching 31 July and things are hotting up in Finance.  As usual we have produced a list of deadlines for submission of any outstanding claims/requisitions/forms etc.

Please share these key deadlines with your stakeholders.

F&P Summer BBQ

It’s our Summer BBQ on Friday 27 July down at the Riverside pub at Kelham Island.  Let’s hope this amazing weather continues and the BBQ isn’t a washout (unlike last year!)

If you would like to come along it is £14pp (see Tracey Makinson or Donna McVeigh to pay).  Pop over to the event listing to see what you’ll get for your money.

F&P Summer Picnic

By Andrew Browse
On Saturday our annual Summer picnic took place in Endcliffe Park.  This year was slightly less active (probably due, in part, to the higher temperatures), but nevertheless fun was had! A little over 20 people (including the small ones) came along and joined in, with good food, lively chat and the odd game or two. It was a really pleasant afternoon and a great opportunity to catch up with people from around the directorate.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and congratulations to Debbie and Bernie for winning the Taboo-esque game (okay, I admit, I forgot the name of it).

I’m sure we’ll be back for 2019, but in the meantime, watch out for more events from the Social Committee.
