Please find attached the slides from Wednesday’s All Team Brief.

If you’re interested in knowing more about ‘Personas’ get in touch with Katie and Emma at continuousimprovement@shu.ac.uk.  For those who couldn’t attend here’s an example of a persona created by Kathryn Roughton:

Who we are and what we do

Planning have recently put together a document which covers what the purpose of the Planning Service is and outlines what each team does.  A similar document exists for the Finance team.  As work progresses on our Mission we will look at merging these into one ‘Finance and Planning – About Us’ document.

Charity bike ride – 3rd May

Don’t forget that next Thursday is our Tour de Yorkshire charity bike ride in aid of Amy’s House.  There’s still time to get involved, and we definitely need more ‘bucket shakers’!  If you can spare half an hour for this very worthy cause, please sign up here.

Unified Comms and Jabber

From the middle of next month (date tba) you will need to log in to your phone to make and receive calls.  At the moment it is possible to make and receive calls without logging in.  When the change comes in to effect the only calls you will be able to make without logging will be to the facilities helpdesk x4444, IT help x3333, Security x888 and 999.

Logging in to your phone ensures that when making a call your name shows up to the person you are calling, and vice versa.  If you don’t login, the receiver will only see a five digit number starting with a 6.

Jabber does many things, including video calls and instant messaging, and allows you to take calls wherever you are if you have a wi-fi connection.  One it’s best features however, is showing you whether someone is available or not.

To log in to Jabber

After you have logged in, click on the cog in the top right corner  >File >Options and tick ‘Start cisco jabber when my computer starts’.   You should only need to do this once.
