Toe in the Water Clinics

  • Do you have a yearning to develop a career in research but do not know how to get started?
  • Have you completed a higher degree some time ago and you now need guidance on the best way to get involved in research again?
  • you have a research idea in mind and want to know where to go for support to develop it further or to obtain funding?

Toe in the water clinics provide Allied Health Professionals in the Yorkshire and Humber region with an opportunity to obtain research career advice or discuss new research ideas in an informal way. The consultations provide the opportunity for people to have supportive, exploratory conversations with someone from a similar professional background with research experience.

The conversations are limited to one session of one hour and will be conducted either via telephone, face-to-face or via web interfaces according to preference.

The consultations aim to empower AHPs to participate in research, to develop innovative approaches to clinical practice and to improve outcomes for patients.
