New: Developing a LGBTQ* network for Postgraduate Researchers in Higher Education
University Alliance (UA) has launched a network for LGBTQ+ postgraduate research students taking part in its doctoral training alliance programme.
The scheme aims to create a supportive environment for socialising and networking to counteract the isolation imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. To mark the launch University Alliance Chair Debra Humphris spoke to the group’s coordinator Benjamin Archer about the struggles faced by LGBTQ+ researchers in academic settings and the importance of networks and safe spaces.
Benjamin Archer has also written his blog “Developing a LGBTQ* network for Postgraduate Researchers in Higher Education” for the UA website on the process of developing the network.
