What are short placements for Built Environment?
The main purpose of a short placement in all areas are to enable students to identify and develop a range of professional skills appropriate to the business or service context, to test out the suitability of types of work for them, to build confidence in the workplace, to apply their knowledge and to build professional networks. Through short placements our students can bring fresh perspectives and add value to work projects as well as helping you build long lasting relationships with the University.
What are the courses involved?
Built Environment – Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, and Construction Project Management and Real Estate
When do they happen?
Built Environment – students can gain their experience at any point between the start of their second year and before the end of semester 1 in final year.
How do I apply?

Built Environment – For a placement to be deemed suitable students will need to demonstrate that it is at an appropriate level and that they will be applying subject specific skills or generic skills relevant to their course such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning, initiative, self-management, technology etc.
