Finance, Accounting and Business Systems short placements

The placements run between October to December, typically for 120 hours over an 8 week period and can be delivered virtually if required. The students develop a variety of skills during their studies that they can apply to your organisation including; research, problem-solving, data analysis and the understanding of human behaviour. They can bring the latest thinking to your projects with access to academic journals, survey and data analysis tools and specialist equipment.

Proposed types of activity: this is by no means exhaustive and can be developed to meet your organisation needs. The timescales for student availability are summarised in the table below.

  • Data analysis and comparison with pre-determined goals.
  • Resource production:  background research and evidence reviews, online or physical resource development, support for social media content development
  • Evaluation and audit – mapping availability of options, gathering feedback and user views (may require ethical approval for data collection – SHU to support)
  • Event organisation both online and face to face where risk assessments have been completed.
  • Business as usual activities to support existing team members
  • Specific projects which have been “put on the back burner” due to time and resource pressure.

***All our students are trainees and are not qualified to provide financial advice in any circumstances***
