This the same operating system many staff and students use on their own equipment and will be familiar to most people.<\/p>\n<p>Using the Windows 10 operating system allows us to have the latest features and security updates which are required to keep the University protected. It also allows access to up-to-date software and automatically connects to files saved in your University OneDrive cloud storage area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Office <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will have access to\u00a0a continually updated version of the Microsoft Office suite of software.\u00a0 This allows you to have more control\u00a0and flexibility in the way you work and better access offsite and from mobile devices but it does mean getting used to Microsoft&#8217;s way of delivering updates and the frequent changes it makes to\u00a0improve its software.<\/p>\n<p>You can also download the latest software with the same features to your own equipment as part of the University&#8217;s software licence. Visit <strong>go.shu.ac.uk\/office365.\u00a0<\/strong>If you\u2019re asked to log in, enter your username* in the format <a href=\"mailto:username@hallam.shu.ac.uk\">username@hallam.shu.ac.uk<\/a> and your normal University password.
