Reflective Account of Inclusive Practice (Senior Fellow only)

A reflective account of your development or enhancement of your own inclusive teaching and learning practices or your leadership of others (maximum 1,000 words or equivalent)

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Quality Code states:

“A well-designed and inclusive learning environment anticipates the multiple requirements of diverse types of learners and aims to eliminate any arbitrary and unnecessary barriers to learning.”

This section of the application focusses on the PSF Dimensions V1 and V2 and requires participants to reflect on their experiences, positive and negative, of engaging in this work either as a classroom practitioner or as someone leading others in this critical area. Although focussing on V1 and V2 there will naturally be other links to the dimensions of practice and as in all other parts of the submission, participants will be expected to underpin their choices and developments with reference to the pedagogic literature.

Referencing and supporting key strategic priorities at Hallam such as the Hallam Model, Narrowing the Gaps, the Race Equality Charter or simply the development towards consistent teaching excellence, this piece should enable participants to demonstrate their contribution to this vital aspect of teaching and learning at Hallam and in the wider HE sector.

This section should conclude with an indication of what the participant intends to do next to extend the necessary culture changes required across the University, in order to ensure that all students have a balanced experience alongside their peers. This might involve an indication of their own development needs or how they will approach the provision of development for other colleagues.
