Our Principles

Our Student Representation System is underpinned by the following principles:

Personal and academic growth is best achieved where there is freedom for expression and creativity.   We work together to sustain a community where thinking and learning can take place in an environment of free will and mutual respect.

Learning happens in environments where there is a commitment to responsiveness and supportiveness. We work together to acknowledge challenges and take responsibility for meeting them

A University is a place where individual and collective perspectives are acknowledged and welcomed. We undertake to create and sustain a network of strong collaborations that can support open communication and constructive dialogue.

The Student Rep System also aligns with the University’s Student Voice Principles

The Student Voice Evaluation Checklist can be used to help you review how the principles are being used.
